Lena Allouche
Business Manager
Lena has more than 7 years’ experience in Structural steel Fabrication & Installation working as the Business Manager for SA Steelworks. During her time she studied protective coatings for structural steel and helped establish our SA PAINT & Protective Coatings side of the business. Her attention to specifications and finding alterative coatings that suit the projects budget and time constraints has been second to none. During her time as the Business Manager for SA PAINT Lena has been an integral party of the development of our residential and commercial team bringing the company from just a few projects a month to successfully building the portfolio of builders to more accommodate for more than 15 painters full time on varies commercial and residential projects. She has worked on many projects including The Rezz Hotel, The Mosaic Hotel, The Links Hotel, varies school developments and is currently working on the hugely anticipated CULLIAN development on Waymouth Street in the city. When we ask Lena what is most important to her with her work she will quite bluntly respond with ‘ attention to detail and ensuring that the schedule is compatible with the client’s expectations and budget’
Fatema Ayubi
Director of Creative Design
Fatema Ayubi has a Bachelor of Design and Visual Arts, majoring in ceramics and glass. Her keen eye and passion for her natural creative inclination has informed every part of her professional life, with an understanding of small and large scale design, texture and colour. She has studied other techniques including water colours, oil painting, oil pastels and glass blowing. This propensity to creativity, means she is also quick to pick up on and utilise new design skills. Most recently, this has been demonstrated through her own business, Shirin Parwana, which shares traditional Afghan desserts. The daily practice involves drawing upon her deep understanding of colours and aesthetics in the design of cakes and desserts. It also included the design of a visually compelling shop front, which demonstrates her ability to use a variety of painting techniques. She has also designed and hand painted walls and interiors for several other businesses, meaning she has developed an understanding of how surfaces, paints and other applications interact
Najwa Nizam
Senior Project Manager
Najwa started at SA STEELWORKS as an assistant to our Business Manager more than 4 years ago. During her time, she quickly moved into an estimating role because of her attention to detail and keen eye for specifications and project requirements. she continued in this role for three years then was promoted to Senior Project Manager in 2023. Currently she overseas more than 15 projects a month and works closely with more than 12 painters daily to ensure that each project is completed to the best of our ability. Najwa is consistently working directly with site supervisors and project managers to keep her projects on track with the best possible finishes. She concentrates on the clients needs, wants, and ensures that the information is consistent throughout the project.
As Senior Project Manager – Najwa attends every site, every day and works very closely with the painters, site supervisors and the supplers to ensure that everything is as per the wants and needs of the clients. When working on our sites look out for our little Najwa and don’t forget to say hi.
